Our homes are designed to provide accessible, safe, comforting care for all who live with us. Our resident-to-staff ratio is among the best in the industry — often up to five times better than other senior living facilities. That allows us to provide a higher level of care in a much more personalized setting.

Legacy Care Home was established in 2007 by the Carlson, Ranta, and Paulson families, who were inspired to offer a more personal, home style of care after seeing their loved ones endure debilitating illnesses like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. These founding families experienced first hand the challenges that come with caring for loved ones who can no longer live independently.

Extending the Legacy.
In 2020, Catalina (Cat) Hemp, R.N. and her father Jason Hemp purchased Legacy Care Home. Since then, they’ve continued to build upon the traditions and values the organization was founded on. A registered nurse with a background in geriatric care, Cat has a passion for the residential care home model of living for older individuals, and a commitment to personalized care.

Meet Catalina Hemp
As a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, Cat has expertise performing needs assessments, monitoring residents’ evolving care needs, and coordinating care with physicians and specialists. She has a passion for the residential care home model of assisted living and a commitment to personalized care — believing every resident should be appreciated and cared for as an individual, with their own unique preferences, needs, goals, and values.
Since purchasing Legacy Care Home in 2020, Legacy has grown from three to seven locations — but the commitment to individualized care has not changed. For Cat, it’s all about making sure that everyone — including residents and staff — always feel like part of a growing family in a place that feels like home.
